About
Welcome to the online research portal of the Optical Probing & Manipulation group of the Aerospace Engineering Department, Texas A&M University!
Our research aims to utilize state-of-the-art experimental techniques from the atomic, molecular and optical physics (AMOP) realm to help solve complex problems of the aerospace engineering discipline. We make use of advanced, non-linear laser diagnostic techniques such as coherent Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering to characterize gas and plasma flows; optical tweezers (0.5 Nobel Prize in Physics 2019) to isolate and study particles; advanced optomechanical sensors for aerospace metrology.
We are always interested in new physics/experiments/applications involving light and atoms/molecules/particles so make certain to contact us if you wish to discuss your idea!
